Adult Ministries

AT FIRST UNITED METHODIST, we believe it’s essential to deepen understanding of God, the Bible, and God’s will for our lives. One of the best ways to do this is through discipleship, small groups, and Bible study. We offer many opportunities for these throughout the week.

Sunday Morning Discipleship

Contemporary Christianity

Age group: Adults of all ages
This group is comprised of adults of varied religious and professional backgrounds, ages, and marital status.  The class has lively discussions on books, theological topics, and current issues of the day.

Covenant Class

Age group: Adults, ages 40+
Through Bible study and open sharing among the class members, this class tries to grow stronger spiritually and to recognize how they are expected to best serve Christ in their lives.   This is a fun-loving group, and they also enjoy annual events outside of class such as Vespers and a May brunch.

The Wired Word

Age group: Adults of all ages
This class is for adults of all ages who want to apply their United Methodist beliefs to current faith issues and world events. Discussions weave in scripture, Biblical thought, theological discussions, and personal reflections.
