Decatur IL Giving Tuesday
hosted at Decatur First United Methodist Church
History of GivingTuesday
Founded in 2012, GivingTuesday has inspired millions of people to give back and support the causes they believe in.
In just a few short years, GivingTuesday has radically changed how we think about generosity and showed just how much power communities everywhere have to create change.

The Tuesday after Thanksgiving

Each year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, following Black Friday and Small Business Saturday, Decatur community organizations celebrate giving with a Generosity Party that brings local non-profits together at one location, making it easy to find the causes you believe in.
#DecaturILGivingTuesday is Decatur’s version of the global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage giving and to celebrate generosity worldwide. It’s an opportunity to improve our community; give back in better, smarter ways; find charities and causes you believe in; and help create a better world.
The goal is to create a massive wave of generosity that lasts well beyond that day and touches every person on the planet.
Decatur makes it easy to give with a centralized Generosity Party that lets you explore the community’s many options for giving back and making our community better.
Each year, more and more charitable organizations join us at the event. So far, we’ve helped dozens of organizations raise more than $105,000 to date – and all funds go to help our community non-profits continue their good work.
Stop by to get to know Decatur’s non-profits, and network with your community.
